I'm getting a little tired of being shat upon by the universe. I am again unemployed, through no fault of my own. This is obviously not a good time to be looking for work, but I'm holding out hope that I will again be gainfully employed soon.
We're moving in a week and a half, and I've barely started packing. John's working for an ambulance service in the south metro, so we're getting a place south of the river. Apache's moving to a new barn this weekend. Chief's been sold, so I'll only be paying for one what I was paying for two, rather than having my board doubled.
The house that I grew up in is gone. My parents are now living in Ashland, WI with my sister and her husband. They sold the house that they had lived in for 31 years to the adjacent cemetery, and it was torn down last week. Driving by my old address is kind of like when you lose a tooth and stick your tongue in the new gap; an odd ache and a feeling of missing something that should be there.
Scott and I walked around Lake Calhoun today. He chose to be responsible and miss the kickin' Cruxshadows show in Mpls last week, so I went over to his place today to hang out since I'd been looking forward to seeing him. It was good to see him again and talk about how much we hated our boss and some of our coworkers at Borders. Boy needs to get some furniture for his new place.
